So I put my computer together, turn it on and insert the Windows cd and it won't load past "Setup is loading files (Windows Executive)...

I've switched drives and it does the same thing. So its not the drive.

Any suggestions?

If you want help then you will have to give a whole lot more info about the system you built, such as: The motherboard you are using, the CPU, The ram, The graphics card, The size, model and type of drive. What if any other plug-in cards have you connected?
Did you benchtest the board before fitting it in the case?

before trying to load an operating system have you even booted into bios to see if things are working? Checked System health to make sure the CPU isn't overheating through poor application of thermal paste?
Did you build this from new or used components? Have you run Memtest86 to confirm your ram is good?

You've got to give a lot more than "I built it and it doesn't work. What's wrong?"

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
