Not entering in BIOS.

Specs: win 2k pro, intel p4- RAM - 256 MB
Hi there...

I have a IBM Think center system. P4 2.8 Ghz,, 1.2 GB ram and 40 GB HDD,

my problem is, when I turn on system it starts normally till display getting signal, when it comes to bios part, its unable to get into BIOS(by hitting F1+F2+Del) and even also not booting up, i always do a excesise that I opens the system case, just unplug the HD power wire and reconnect back. and wonder, it boots without any interupt.
sometime I disconnect and reconnect the IDE cable, than also boots up.

I didn't understanding whats the exactly problem.
please can you tell solution..

For the bios....try pressing f12 and keep it depressed....then turn on the computer...
be sure to keep f12 will know when to let up.

To unplug the ide cable..I bet you touch the molex (power) plug....loose connection.....
test it by wiggling rather than unplugging.

Are u sure F1+F2+DEL are correct keys to enter BIOS? Did u try to swap ide data cable(80 wires)? Can u see the post screen?

Are you even sure that a key combination is the way to enter the BIOS on your machine? A lot of IBM's use a setup utility (disk) to enter and make changes to the BIOS. Look on Lenovo's site (formerly IBM's PC division) for the correct Users Guide and see whether or not that's the case:

actually I'm working as a technical support in a compony. all machines are IBM, and I troubleshoot hardware related problems.

about that F1+F2+Del buttons, it works and I lot of time worked on that perticular machine..
