Not detecting Second Sound Card

May 1, 2012 at 04:58:40
Specs: Windows 7
How does my computer detect a second NOT ONBOARD sound card. I am a dj and have an audigy 2z. I want to use my mixer which is from 2 rca to jack plug channel 1 into the audigy and then channel 2 into another sound card, cause it screws up when its plugged into my onboard sound card. The other sound card is a sound blaster Live! but my computer will not detect it, and is really slow. Any suggestions?

You need to list your complete system specs - board, CPU, RAM, etc. It's difficult to give advice when we have absolutely no idea what you're working with.

Did you enter the BIOS & disable the onboard sound? Did you uninstall the onboard sound drivers? After installing the sound card, did you install the Creative drivers? Not sure about running 2 sound cards at the same time. Never had a need to & never encountered it on any systems I've ever worked on before.

Graphics Card - ASUS ATI Radeon HD 6870
Ram : 4 GIGS
CPU - Q66 Quad Core 2.40
Motherboard : P5Q
Sound Card : Main Audigy 2z. Sound Card Secondary Sound blaster Live!

So yyour saying it will most likely work and not slow the PC down if i disable the onboard sound???
