I fitted my MSI 865PE Neo2 motherboard with an Asetec WaterChill system to reduce the noise. I replaced the little disco-light HSF with a water block, and because MSI doesn't use standard mobo mounting holes, I had to glue it on. I used Artic Alumina thermal epoxy, and unfortunately, I laid it on pretty thick (because I wanted a sure bond). So, I'm getting 60C as my NB temp (from Core Center). Also, the NB waterblock gets as its input the output of my 2.8GHz CPU water block, which is 57C. I think I know the answer to my problems, but I don't want to go there: I have every fan in my WaveMaster case disabled except the Asetek 120mm fan (which is running very quietly at 7V) and the PS fan in my ThermalTake Silent PurePower (one is user adjustable, and it's all the way down to ~1,000rpm; the other is not adjustable, but it's not loud either.)
Anyway, I'm so delighted with the relative silence (varies between 52-53dB C-weighted) that I am loathe to turn any of the other fans on or to turn the Asetec fan to 12V (very loud!)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
