At the moment I have a Radeon 9250 128mb graphics card and am looking to upgrade to an x800 xt platinum 256. My current one doesnt have a fan but the new one has a rather large one, does this mean that it's like to be a lot noisier than the other one and thus I will pick this noise up on my recordings? Thanks L.Dudley

Does your MOBO have PCI E slots?

No, just normal PCI slots. Well I think it does, it's a year old, what do they look like? L.Dudley

I believe that this card is a PCI Express card. Not too many MOBOs have PCI E slots.

It is likely that you have a AGP 8X slot. I dont think that it will increace the noise inside your PC too much. There are some silent heatpipe solutions on the market. I saw one on a Radeon 9550 but that probbably dosent really create that much heat anyway. I dont think it will be enough to pick up on your recordings but you may want to ask for a quiet card at your shop. Good luck.
