I have a Gigabyte P35 DS3 L motherboard. I'm using onboard sound. I can play mp3 or windows media files and hear sound, but i can't hear sounds in java or when i open my volume control there is no dinging when i adjust my sound. I think it's something simple but just can't figure it out. Please, help thanks.

Check in volume control and see if wave is mute.

Also check in sounds and audio under sounds tab check sound themes "windows default"

That was it beckrl. Thank you alot. I don't know how my sound theme got changed (5 or 6 year old son) but that's what it was.
