Hi I'm having a problem with a pc I own .When I turn it on I have no video signal.Last week I reformated the drive and everything was fine.Until this week when I go to turn it on and the fans go on everything lights up hard drive spins as well as the cd drives. I replaced the video card but Still didnt work. I pulled everything off the mobo and tried it with just the ram the vid card but still nothing.I cant check the ram or the cpu on another pc . The monitor works fine on the other pc so does the video cards. Could the agp slot be bad .If so the only options I have is to buy a new mobo or a pci graphics card right ? Its not my pc its for the lil kids to play with so I dont need a super graphics card in it.

Try resetting the bios, you could also upgrade to XP and see if that will find you AGP.

I think what Monarch meant was to try Clearing the CMOS.

If you don't get a beep when powering on, the motherboard or CPU is dead. Unless they are both working, you will not get a display.

Yes, clear the CMOS, that is pull out the battry and leave the computer unpluged for about 5 min. reinstall the battry and attempt to boot.

No beep DOES NOT mean the mobo or the cpu is dead.

When you said you pulled everything off the MB did you disconnect the data and power cables to the drives? Try reseating the video card and Ram. Only use i stick of ram in stripped down mode. If you have more than 1 stick of ram, try the other one if no go. Clear that CMOS using the onboard jumper. Have the machine unplugged while performing this operation. Pulling out the battery is a iffy way to clear the cmos. Also, make sure that the jumper is returned to the run position before you startup. Usual run position is pins 1&2 and clear 2&3 but you should check your manual. If you don't have a manual, download one. Don't have the MB specs, use aida32 to get specs. Download aida at: www.aida.hu If you pulled the MB battery out, make sure it is installed right. Make sure the monitor is connected and turned on.

Do you have a generic old PCI video card, a 4 meg pull perhaps, give that a try.

If you dont have one let me know Ill send one to ya, I litterly have dozens from old computer that I have striped and sold the mobo/cpu's from.
