If you pull the ram the normal response will be a beeping error. That implies (but doesn't guarantee) your motherboard is OK. Added software wouldn't matter since the problem is occurring before the OS even loads. I'd suspect the monitor, monitor connection or the video card.

I have read ur repleis .......and after i borowed my freinds pc...i started checking each part individualy ......and u know what my 512 megabyte ram was out ......it could't work in my pc ...how ever it showed some blincing extremly low resolution intel (logo) and could't pass to xp in my freinds pc.
so now i decided to buy another RAM (infact since i am going to use it for video editing i am planing to get a 1G RAM).....so can u give me any idea .......why the RAM was damaged in first place .......what kind of ram should i try ( the damaged one is DDh_dimm) happy holy days .

Before buying any new RAM you may want to make sure the motherboard RAM slots are clean and the sticks are firmly inserted.

I wouldn't have any recommendations on what RAM to buy. You might try www.crucial.com and input your motherboard info. Or you could start a new thread and maybe find someone with a similar motherboard who could give you some ideas.
