Had a system donated to my church that previous owner ran dban on. When booting up, cannot get monitor to display ANYTHING. When I unplug the monitor, I get the "no signal" screen. Level of knoweledge is about a 3 on a scale of 10, so please be patient with me. What can I do to get this up & running?

there's a lot of IFs to deal with. does the system beep? if not, might be ram or cpu, or poss even pwr supply. is video off mobd, or card? if beeps, system trying to boot: then if you can obtain a v.card (nobody wants them anymore anway), try slotting that and hook video cable to the card's port and see. if no beeps, prob'ly best send to repairshop unless you're able to obtain (and risk) cpu and ram to try. if its pwr supp., nothing happens including fans. (what is "dban"?) used computer parts should be dirt cheap in this day and time, via ebay etc.

system beeps when powering up, fans all work, video is on mobd. Can you explain what you mean by "try slotting that and hook video cable to the card's port and see" I have removed cmos and ram & reseated. I know monitor works as I have tried on another pc. Thank you for your help.

Oh. dban wipes out the OS "nuke" program.
