I am in the process of building a new gaming machine. I'm competent in building machines but i would in no way say that i am a pro and i may have missed something with this new technology so any thoughts are much appreciated.
I put together Mainboard: A8M-SLI Processor: AMD64 3000+ (socket 939) Graphics Card: Geforce 6600GT (pci-e x16) Memory: 256 MB DDR (more added later) HDD: WD IDE 160GIG
there should be plenty of power to the system, I have power going into the mother board from two location, the pentium 4 input and the 24pin input. however i am running a converter from my powersupply to convert 20pin to 24pin. I am also converting DVI- monitor output on the video card (converter included with card)
When i power on all the fans spin and the harddrive kicks on, but there is no video output. The motherboard doesnt have onboard video, either.

I'm pretty sure your video card requires a separate power connection. Have you supplied power to the card?

There was a seperate power input for the card on the motherboard, but the motherboard manual said it was only needed for running in sli mode (2 cards). However, i did try plugging in the third power for the card too, it didnt change anything.
