'No Timer Ticker' message

Specs: Windows XP Pro SP 3
I recently encountered a problem of having a black screen after power up. There was an error message which read " No Timer Ticker". There was a beeping sound from the BIOS. I then switched the PC and the main power supply off. After turning on the mains and pushing the PC power button, it was able to boot up normally. What seems to be the problem?

'No Timer Ticker' ?

If you meant No timer tick interrupt, the problem is that you have a defective system board or mobo ane the corrective action for this type of error is to have it replaced.

Thanks XpUser, you're absolutely right. My PC died a few hours after I posted my question! Haha!
