there is no sound from my new dell inspiron 1545.It was working fine first,then the sound became distorted or crackled. and now there is completly no sound.the laptop is very new.i have tried all methods reinstalling the drivers,restoring etc.
i have done the tests for the speakers and it shows everything working prefectly only you cant hear the sound. sound from headphones is crackled like. please any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Try inserting the headphone jack 5 or 6 times. When you insert the headphone jack it lifts up a contact to interrupt the signal to the speakers. If you can hear sound through the headphones at all indicates to me that the problem lies with that contact.
If that doesn't solve the problem then get a warranty repair.
