Solved No sound levels from my electric guitar Line in selected

February 15, 2015 at 13:59:48
Specs: Windows 7, Intel i73.4GHz/12GB DDR3

I connected my electric guitar to the back of the Creative X-Fi Titanium internal sound card to the Line in jack. I went to Creative Console and saw that Line in was checked. When I proceeded to strum a few chords, there were no sound levels. I raised the levels on my guitar but no levels appeared on the Creative Console display. Does anyone have any ideas? When Mic is selected on Creative Launcher, it works fine, I am using the Creative Mic that was with the sound card.

Not sure about a Creative card but on Realtek HD you must program the ports by actually clicking on them, even if they are already highlighted.

Could also be the line in is set to be used exclusively for some other device. Keep in mind there may be TWO different sound levels that work in series. One of them may be muted.

Thanks! I checked it again and everything has Line 1 selected. When you use your RealTek, do you have a preamp between the guitar and the card?
