No sound from speaker.....

Specs: Windows XP

I have a very critical problem, my PC speaker works only with TV tuner card application.....When i open TV tuner card application, speaker works good...

But for the other windows application like video/audio player, speaker doesn't work....

I checked and updated the audio driver, Cable connection and everything is fine .....But all in vain....

Please somebody help me

Don't use any of those registry cleaners / tweakers as mentioned above. They're mostly crap and do more damage than good. How is the tv tuner card wired? Are you using an hdmi cable? Do you have any wires plugged in to your sound jacks on the motherboard?

I informed Justin of that behavior but it appears he hasn't acted on it. I just did.


Look at the settings for your TV tuner and/or sound device for a box that asks if you want to use that device exclusively for that program. Most likely in the TV tuner settings. Untick the box.

Hello all,

I checked all the conditions......Also uninstalled the TV tuner card application.........Scanned registery files............

Audio wiring connection is also correct as it was working well before with the same setup....

Is there any other ways to find the cause???

Finally i got success when i uninstall my webcam.....I dono how come a webcam application affects audio....But somehow i will try installing it again to check the cause

Read the latter part of #3 above. Some software wants exclusive use of a hardware device. I have seen that selection with some phone modems.
