No sound and no Local Area Connection

November 11, 2009 at 16:18:04
Specs: Windows XP SP3, 2.26GHz 1.5GB ram
I just re-installed xp after a bsod, and I have gotten pretty much everything back to normal, but the problem is, that there is no sound. Also, I used to use this pc for my xbl connection, and I connected it via ethernet, but in the device manager, there's a yellow question mark with a black explanation point in it, and Ethernet Controller is next to it, that is the same case with Multimedia Audio Controller, which I'm guessing is the audio. I don't really know much about computers, so I have no clue what to do. My motherboard is dell optiplex gx260

I knew before I even open your post that it was gonna be "I just reinstalled Windows".

You have to install the device drivers...they are not all included on the XP disc & the ones that are, are WAY out of date anyway. You need drivers for the motherboard chipset, video, sound & network, possibly others. There's no way we can help without knowing the make/model of all these devices.
