Solved No signal to monitor on two video cards

Specs: Windows Vista
I've been had some problems with my Nvidia Geforce 8600. While playing games I would see bright dots or shapes and it would soon freeze...the dots would also appear on my windows desktop If I could exit the game. At some point my computer started running the fans three times at startup before finally beeping and starting. (I had some repeated beeping problems for a bit when it wouldn't start but those went away somehow) I checked the RAM, removing one stick at a time. The fan ran 3 times every start up but I never got the bright objects, maybe because I wasn't playing games for a while.

I started playing again and the dots came back. I installed MSI Afterburner to pump up the fan when the card would overheat which seemed to be working. Ok so today, I turned on my comp but got a no signal error on my monitor. It checks analog/digital a few times then goes to sleep. Moving the mouse/keyboard does nothing. I checked all the cables and tried two monitors.

I decided to try a different video card (ATI) and it didn't help. One weird thing though...the fan didn't run 3 times, only once then the beep like normal. What does that mean???

Sorry this is so long, I don't know what info is relevant. I have a Foxconn motherboard which may have been sending me an error code with the beeps and fans? I have a Dell running Vista 32, its about 4 years old. The video card was reaching about 87 Degrees max before I started increasing the fans. Let me know if you need to know anything else.

I guess the ati card wasn't working either! I put an old one from my friend's comp in and it worked! Guess I need to find a new video card. Thanks
