Comment: My monitor shows "NO SIGNAL INPUT" on starting up. Only after turning the power off and on several times in a row will the msg disappear. I also noticed that a whirring sound comes from the cpu when the power is turned on, and if it whirs more than once the monitor will show that msg! Athlon XP 1800, 256 DDR RAM, Leadtek GeForce 4 Ti 4400, 250 watt power supply

Reply: (edit)There are many possible reasons but a 250 watt PSU is pretty meager for your system and inadequate power could explain your symptoms.

Reply: (edit) Maybe Iam way off base here but what you describe as a whirling sound , is the exact sound my system made everytime on bootup , untill I disabled the "search for a new floppy drive each time my computer starts" in system properties ? Is your floppy in working order ? Perhaps the line somehow became unhooked to your M.B., and thats why you are recieving the "No Signal Input" message. There is also a setting to check for a floppy in the BIOS. Good Luck,Nick

Reply: (edit)that must be some powerfull 250 watt powersupply to keep that 1800 xp cpu going, my 350 watt barely keeps mine running now, any higher cpu than that and Pop! goes something. humm~ maybe you pop something all ready i wonder what it was?
