Hello I recently moved my computer to do some cleaning underneath it and the next day went to move it back and received a no signal on my monitor.

I checked inside and reconnected everything and made sure everything was in place. The computer starts up, the fan spins, and the lights turn on. However there is no beep from POST and all the components were working fine the other day.

I checked the computer on 2 monitors, and that did not seem to be thr problem. The graphics card works fine on another computer along witht the memory.

This leads me to think that its the motherboard or CPU?

I'm at my wits end and any help or suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.

Could also be your memory. If the memory modules got damaged or even jarred loose during the move, you could experience the symptoms you described. I would remove and reseat the memory modules; if you have more than one module, try them one at a time. That way if one got damaged you will be able to isolate it.

he said the memory worked fine in another system...
make sure the mobo isnt touching the metal case behind it except the screws. if its making even the slightest contact in the wrong place, it could be shorting out.

I checked around the motherboard and did not see anyplace where the metal would be touching the MB. Are there specific places?

Thanks and anyone else have any more suggestions or comments?

Is it possible that it may be the PS? Maybe just placing it into a new case and a new PS will fix this problem?

My PS right now is 400W so its powerful enough.

I tried a new PS and to no avail. I took a large amount of time making sure no metal was touching the MB and that all screws, parts, cables, etc were plugged in right.

So what next? Do I need a new part? MB or CPU?
