Reply: (edit)possible broken wire in cable between monitor & computer. disconnect monitor cable at computer to see if any bent pins. if there is a drum shape bulge on cable, try to wiggle the cable between computer & bulge to see if red comes back david

Reply: (edit)They make "sacrifical" male/female cable ends to put at the end of your monitor cable. It might be a good idea to protect the end of your cable with one of these knowing that that pin is messed up. I haven't seen too many monitors with detachable cables.

Reply: (edit)My son had the same problem with a pin pushed in. Pulled it back out with long nose pliers and he was back in business.
