Greetings, I hope this is the correct forum for this problem. I have gone through some of the archival postings, and have not found any that alluded to my problem. I HAD three recording programs installed on my computer...Roxio Creator Suite 7.5, Nero Suite 7, and Nti Platinum 7.0. The Roxio was my main recording program for cd's and data dvd's; some of my dvd programs used the Nero burning engine as a default; and I primarily used the Nti for ISO's. They were all compatible until I updated the Nti to version 7.5. Roxio would not detect my two dvd drives, while both Nero and Nti 7.5 would. I uninstalled both the Nti and the Roxio, and then reinstalled Roxio, but it still would not list the dvd burners. The drag-to-disc feature did recognize one of my drives, but not the other. I could just simply use Nero for all my burning, but I have lots of saved Roxio projects (e.g. cd labels). I would welcome any and all suggestions how to process. Thanks in advance for all input!!!

The first thing I would try is a System Restore to a date before you did the upgrade. Good Luck....

I am surprised you got even two burning programs to co-exist. I didn't think that was possible as each brand seems to dislike the other. I haven't used Nero in awile but Roxio does have an online drive identifier. If the version isn't hamstrung because it is a crippled bundled version.
Are the drives showing properly in My Computer? If not then reboot and watch to see if they are properly identified in the POST screens. If they show in the POST screens but not in Windows you have a problem with your ASPI layer drivers. There are different versions of these drivers and different devices want to install different versions. Look at the link below for more info on ASPI layer drivers.

I had numerous conflicts associated with Neros InCd, so I finally uninstalled it. No problems since.

Hi guys !!! Thanks for all your inputs. Here is the update. I forgot to mention that I had Anydvd installed. It also started acting up, so I uninstalled it. I reinstalled Roxio Creator 7.5--still no detection; I then updated to 7.5.2.49--again no detection. Finally, I installed the latest pxengine fix, and, voila, there IT was. Why I had to resort to all of this, I don't understand, but at last...success.
Thanks again to all for your help!!!
