Did you make sure to only install motherboard mounting studs where there are holes in the motherboard?

If you don't know which pins the front panel LED cables connect to how can you be certain you have the power and reset switches connected to the right pins? Identify your motherboard and download the manual from the maker.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

ATX mboards will not boot unless you have at least the power switch connected to the proper pins on the mboard (or you briefly short the proper pins). If you had a printed manual you have lost track of, you probably have a mboard CD as well - the same manual is often on the CD.
