I just put a new computer together, and i tried to power it up for the first time, and all i got was a high pitched, piercing hissing noise. I removed and unplugged everything except for the HD, and same resule. I then used a paper clip to short the two pins for the fan on the PSU, and the fan worked. When I plugged it back into the mobo, the fan did not work, and again all i got was the hissing noise.

Also, the light on the mobo does not turn on. There is no power to the mobo. Any suggestions or known poblems.

Hi

Sounds like there may be a short circuit situation on the mobo or the wiring on the connector.

Dont mess with it take it to a good pc shop and have them test the PSU and all cabling.

Any more messing arround may burn something out.

Regards

Janos
