I have five things plugged into my Apc PF11VT3 Surge Arrest. A lamp, monitor, printer, high-speed modem and Dell Pc. After some bad weather everthing, lightning etc., has power EXCEPT the Dell Pc. Is it damaged. I only bought it in July. I am so very very annoyed. Please reply ASAP!!

Did you unplug it from the power source and then plug it back into a wall socket and try and power it up? There are four lights on the back of the machine. What colors are they from left to right?

I would try plugging it right into the wall as Jennifer SUMN mentioned. If that does not work it is possible that it got hit by lightning, and it could be any number of things wrong with it from there. I would first try a new Power Supply Unit within the computer itself. It could be possible that one of the capacitors could of been damaged in the storm.

Try opening the case and removing the pci cards....then try booting up. if it boots up, put each one back in 1 at a time....my bet it is the dial-up modem (even if you are on high speed....it seems that card gets fried first....)
I've had that happen on 2 PC's in the past while....like I said...neither was on dialup. It's worth a try.
