i need help on this stupid issue anybody can help i just got my xpm2200 today install it double checked everything went to power up and no power i hear juice following thru the psu but the mobo pwr led does'nt even come on any suggestions and is there any chance i can talk to one of you directly are maybe thru a messenger cause im fustrated and need quick responses

Did you try to power up the PC without a CPU installed? It will not boot without one. Also, as far as the "mobo pwr led," do you mean the power light on the front of the case? If it's not lighting up, you may have to reverse the contacts on the pins.

Before I got my cpu i tried to power up to see how the leds look but nothing but nothing came on. Now i have my cpu and its installed but I still have no power but the psu gets hot but the fan doesnt spin its just makes the sound of eletric going thru the psu. And I'm talking aboput the power led on the mobo itself.

Powering up with no cpu should just error not destroy.
Try reseting the bios and making sure everythign is hooked up properly. Chk mem, power, cpu, video etc.

Whatever you do, don't run that CPU without it's fan working properly first.
Unless you have a lot of spare money I would recommend you employ the services of someone knowledgable in these matters. Even a computer savy friend.

"fan doesnt spin its just makes the sound of eletric going thru the psu" also another indication of high current. You should not "hear" electricity. If you have a high pitch whining, you are drawing major amounts of current somewhere.

Thanks for all of your input, but after all the things I've tried I think I came to the bottom of it. I belive it's the power supply thats has the short circuit or has some type of problem. So I called A-Top and they replaced it for free. Oh angrymen2001 the heat sinks inside of the case gets hot, and the whining pitch isn't that loud the room has to be completely silent to hear it.
It also winds down after I switch the I/O switch.

This may be a stupid question, but is the motherboard grounded?
I know some folks who didn't install standoffs in their first rigs. Heck, I did that myself my first build (luckily nothing was damaged).
Did you try to test the PS with another system?

How do I know if it's grounded (ground it to the case?). What is the standoff, and I tested the PS with this system (Dell) no power either.
