ok... I have a pretty old computer, Atholon 1.2Ghz and an ASUS A7V133... i recently wiped out my system and was re-installing windows XP when disaster struck... while windows was installing I plugged in my ethernet cable to my pci ethernet card... right away i received a blue screen and I had to restart my computer... now it won't even post... the HDD light stays on constant, there is no video and it just stays like that until i decide to shut it down... PLEASE... if anyone knows, what can I do to get it back up and running again?
Thanks

ATI Radeon 9600XT

Remove all hardware down to the minimal
(psu, cpu w/heatsink,1 stick memory and graphic card.) See if it will boot or give some post beeps.

"while windows was installing I plugged in my ethernet cable"
Obviously a dumb move....
Remove ALL cards but video, disconnect ALL drives (HDD, optical, floppy), disconnect all USB devices including mouse. All you need is the keyboard. Unplug the power & Clear CMOS using the jumper. Then see if you can boot & access the BIOS...if you can, run thru all your settings, save & exit, then immediately shutdown. Connect only your drives, then continue with the Windows installation. Add your cards one at a time, AFTER the Windows install is complete.
