Hi, I have a clone computer that lthe school I went to gave me. I tried to hook it up to the internet. message error came back " not enough ram On;ly 96 Mhz. that ram stick is DDR 128 266Mhz Pc 2100. I went uot and bought more ram a 512 266mhz pc2100. I installed it in the second slot. Tured the computer on and get a post beep then another then another and so on. turned computer off reseated ram tured computer back on no beep, and screen is black. flashed cmos. cleared bios. Now computer does not reconize or know where to boot. How can I fix this?

Does it boot with only the original RAM installed? And will it boot with only the new 512MB stick? Or is the problem occurring only when both sticks are installed? More info, please.

Some motherboards insist on the same size sticks. Go to the manufacturer's site of the motherboard for the specifications.

When I push the power button with original ram in slot I get the post beep then another post beep,and another. When I change to the new ram stick and push power I get power to CPU fan and power supply fan T>V> asks let it want to show somthing then the LED on TV tturn yellow and no post beep.

Won't boot at all with new or old ram just the fans are on
