Hi all,

A friend of mine just has bought a second-hand computer and he's having troubles with it..

When you push the ON-button the fans begin to spin and leds go on but there doesnt appear anything on the monitor and the laser on the mouse also doesnt go on the same goes for the keyboard..

The specs:

AMD Arhlon 1,4GHz
MSI 6380Lite
512MB (2x256) PC2100
GeForce FX 5900XT 128mb
Maxtor 7200RPM 30GB

Anyone know what it can be..?
Thanks in advance

Well it started when i was just doing some surfing and then the pc frose and got black screen.. so i hit the reset button and tried to boot up agian but no screen came and mouse and keyboard where not reacting:S
When i now turn on the pc, the monitor, mouse and keyboard are dead but the HDD and fans and leds are working fine and there are also beeps from an error message it always gives when it boots (also before this problem) it says:

CPU fan not running, Shutdown system Y/N?

It has always given this message with constante beeps like a sirene, while the cpu fan is just always running fine @ 2500rpm..(processor normally is around is 45c)
then i just hit N and boot on..

So now it still gives this sirene beeps but cant hit the N because keyboard isnt working and the sirene doesnt stop..

It would help if your CPU fan was spinning.

Athlon 1.4GHz CPUs run very hot and will overheat very quickly.

Reset BIOS. Try to get the CPU fan spinning and see if it will boot with a display. If it won't, consider that your CPU may have burned up.

I'm sure the fan is connected in the CPU fan plug, and it also gives the error message with other cpu fans.. but that's not the real problem, the real problem is i dont have any picture on the screen anymore and mouse and keyboard dont react.. i can only hear the beeps from the error message.
