I have this new laptop and have been enjoying it for 2 weeks now with no problems. Today I was going to be working in an absolute silent office and to be safe I disabled the only audio driver I could find for the onboard sound. (SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC using the 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)).

I go to enabling the device and everything seems to enable just right. But I can't get any sound though my speakers or my jacks. I have re-installed the SigmaTel software and have uninstalled/reinstalled everything I could find related to audio devices. I have powered down, unplugged and removed battery, and drained the power from the system. I have used system restore. I have booted in safe mode. I have done everything I can think of but I still can't get sound from the onboard speakers or the jacks. And yes I made darn sure several times to make sure it wasn't on mute or anything in any audio properties. (SigmaTel's software or the Windows software).

Any suggestions?

Ok.... shweww... proplem fixed. I finally resorted to some dumb-tech and simply muted and un-muted the sound and that worked lol. How crazy is that. I have been working on this for the last 3 hours.
