Solved No lights on my Gateway LX6810... fans are spinning

My Gateway starts, Fans are spinning....No lights at all, No display.... I can fix a computer sort of, But I'm not world class!

probably ought to look into replacing the power supply with a new one with 80 percent efficiancy known problem sincepower supplys carry diffety voltages and can power fans but not have power needed to power the whole pc.

Is the fan spinning?
Try/borrow one before buying. No need to bolt it in, just uncable the old one, connect the other & leave outside the case.

Tried 3 different Video cards...No, That would be too easy.
Someone said to make sure the video cards are getting power...Am I supposed to probe the little pins on the motherboard?! That sounds, Well....Stupid...Insane?
Can a power supply lose a section of it's voltage, But still power some things? Did I say that right?...Sorry.
Power supplies are a thorn for me...As soon as I get one, It blows in one way or another....No, I've never bought a new one.
Got laid off....Yada Yada...I'm used to building it if I can't afford it. I understand electronics, I fix stereos. This is baffling me. This is the coolest website...Wow!
