I got a computer tower from a friend and when i try to hook it up to a monitor via vga it says no input. He has a video card with 2 DVI inputs, should i get a DVI cord and try that or could it be something else?

So there is an onboard VGA port as well as the graphics card that has only DVI outputs. In that case the presence of the graphics card disables the onboard VGA port. Either remove the graphics card or get a DVI cable. ( Recommend the latter )

I figured that with the graphics card being in there that it would disable the other one. Thanks for clearing that up.
