no hard drive in bios

Specs: Windows xp, celeron m
added new memory to laptop, when i turn it on "no bootable devices" over and over. now its saying no hard drive . install new hard drive. still repeating no bootable devices. what do i need now?

Did you remove the AC power and the battery BEFORE installing the RAM?

The new hard drive appears to be recognized by the BIOS but because there is no Operating System installed on it the drive is not bootable. Install an OS.
