Specs: Windows 7
I have a factory standard packard bell imedia j2422. the only additions to it have been a firewire card and a linksys network card. the problem is every time i start up the computer it seems to be working fine but it isnt sending a signal to the monitor, i thought it might have been the monitor, but then i checked it with my brothers monitor and it still didnt work. i fear that the graphics card is dead, which on any other computer wouldnt be a problem, but i dont have any other graphics cards that will fit this motherboard.

It may be the graphics card, it may be something else. Does it even have an actual card or is it onboard video? Troubleshoot, don't just randomly replace parts. Does the system beep at startup?

there is no onboard video, it is a proper card, i think its pci-e because my old graphics cards wont fit. it doesnt beep, as far as i can tell it boots windows because i need to hold the button to turn it off again.
