No DVI-D Signal on computer start up-

Hello all,

I had a problem when out of the blue, my Viewsonic VG2230wm LCD monitor, started to show blank screen untill windows 7 loaded.

When windows loaded, it got stuck at 640*480 res.

However, when pluggin in with an analog display cable, all worked fine ( but still no native res
1680*1050 ).

So, I booted up with this analog cable ( had no analog port on ATI HD 5800 series, so I used the DVI to Analog converting little dongle ).
When windows loaded, on analog display, I changed res. to some friendly 1024*768.
Then without turning anything off ( PC or Screen ), unplugged the analog cable.
Plugged in the DVI cables on monitor and Pc.
Waited a second..
Voila.. it automatically turned on as 1680*1050

Then turned off the system, just to check if all was ok permenantly... Did a shutdown. Restarted again, and all is still OK.

Can see BIOS, bootup and everything with the DVI cable .. again...

NOTE:
The occasion when all this happened was, our cleaning lady pulled the computer a bit too far and stretched the DVI cable too much.. bending and partially dismantleing them from jacks.

When I plugged them back, all was like hell.. Even thought my graphic cards port or monitor port got damaged.. but.. I guess not.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
