no drive attached to fast trak cont

Hello, i just got a new computer. i put my old hardrive inside, hook it up. i get an error: "no drive attached to fast trak controller" What does this mean? It directs me to the BIOS setup, the hard-drive is recognized as a primary master also. What could be wrong? please help me

Even though you get the error, does your system still boot?

FastTrack is a line of IDE controllers from the "Promise" company. Many are RAID controllers. Chances are there is at least one IDE connector specifically for drives connected to this controller, or there is a separate PCI controller.

If your system is not booting, and the FastTrack controller is on the motherboard, try connecting the hard drive to the other IDE socket(s). If your system is booting, and the FastTrack controller is onboard, see if you can disable the FastTrack controller in the BIOS.

Ok, i fixed that part. The system boots up, i go into the fastboot options and try to auto configure. When i try to create it, it says it fails and tells me the computer is going to reboot. i try to delete it but theres nothing to delete. i cant go into msdos or anything either. im not sure if this is information is clear or not, but please help me. thanks
