I am getting no display on Compaq. The computers sounds like it is booting but nothing shows on the monitor. The monitor works on other computers. The video is integrated. If I get a PCI video card is it possible it will have video or is replacing the motherboard the only option?

I've seen this a few times with compaq machines.
My instict tells me it is your integrated VGA chip(s) that have gone.
Yes you can add a PCI card. You don't have to replace your motherboard.
See if you can get your hands on an old PCI VGA card just to test the theory, but I'm sure that's the solution.
Also, just check all your connections to your motherboard like RAM, etc. Although in most cases if something like that was out you'd get the POST beep messages.
You could also try clearing the CMOS by locating and bridging the oposite pins on the clear CMOS jumper...assuming your board has one.
Let me know how you get on.

Bought a new PCI video card and it does not work. No choice that I can see except changing the motherboard. Thanks for the suggestions.
