I am trying to get this old computer to work and when I turn it on the monitor does not display anything. The computer has power and turns on but I can not see anything on the monitor.

Could be a number of things, including the monitor, video card, and motherboard. I would check them in that order.

Hello,

Without knowing what kind of PC you are trying to rebuild, I can only make a few suggestions.

If you have another working PC available, the first thing to do would be to swap monitors. This should tell you right away if the problem is with the monitor or with the computer.

Second, make sure that you hear the "beep" when the PC starts up. If you dont hear the POST beep, thats a possible sign of an issue as well. Also note if it's different than just a single "beep".

Please post again when you have narrowed down the culprit. =)
