i have tried 2 different monitors and 2 different video cards. also i have tried the ram in all slots but it still powers on, but the monitor says no signal. this was done on a motherboard that i had just replaced so the other cards etc dont have the problem. any ideas?? by the way, the hard drive doesnt have anything on it in the way of an operation system.

Best thing is for you is get ATI Radeon 7500,8500,9000 or 9700 which support multi-monitor into one video card, one ATI video card support 2 monitor, 1 TFT and tv. I used ATI Radeon 7500 with multi-monitor support.

Could be a bad motherboard, improperly installed or fried CPU, etc. If the video card or RAM was bad or missing you should get beeps from the motherboard.

Do you get a normal post beep? When you power up the system and you get a normal beep code you may just simply need to get the operating system and load it, format the drive and you're on your way. See if you can boot to a startup disc or to a Windows disc to begin the process. If that doesn't work then you can be for certain that it's a hardware problem. You want to exhaust literally everything before paying for a new card and monitor. It's best to start with the simple stuff first before tearing open the machine. Check your connections in back. Try another power outlet. Try another monitor cable (which you've probably already done). Check through your research and be certain that your video card is compatible with your motherboard, ie double data rate or SDRAM. Get the motherboard manual and see whether or not your jumper settings are correct. It is also possible that the motherboard came in contact with static shock. Were you grounded when opening the case? If you've checked everything else, it could be the motherboard, but do you get infinite beeps when turning on the machine? If you do, it's the motherboard. The video card must be seated properly. The CPU may be bad as well. Most importantly...is this a homemade system? If it's not, build your own.
