No Disc in the drive

January 7, 2013 at 10:37:14
Specs: Windows Vista, 2.6/2G

I have an HP Pavilion Intel Core 2 2.4 running Vista with a DVD player and an added LG Blu Ray drive (about 2 years old). Last night, the blu ray drive was working just fine. This morning, neither drive will play a dvd (neither will play), blu ray (bd won't play) or a cd (neither will play).

Whenever a disc is inserted, nothing plays automatically. I click on the drive to "open" and that results in a "No disc in the drive" message. There is a disc in the drive. I've tried multiple types of discs and multiple different discs. Nothing works.

I've rebooted, reinstalled the drivers, but I'm still getting the same message on BOTH drives.

What can i do to fix this as I'm assuming that since it's both drives this is not a hardware problem?

check your connections (at least on the external one)...maybe someone accidently unplugged them and didn't plug in all the way. Could be a person or animal...accidents do happen...LOL
