help
my toshiba laptop giving me message "no bootable cd in atapi cd-rom.
I checked my bios according to previous posts here.
its hdd-fdd-cd-rom-lan.
I don't know how to fix this. can anyone help me
please

Set the boot order in the bios Setup to fdd at the top, CD drive, hard drive, lan
The disk must be bootable, of course. CD rom (only) drives and CD-RW (only) drives can't boot a bootable DVD.

hey thanks, tubes
I tried that now, and didn't work and still giving me the same trouble shoot.
and also I couldn't change bios to what you wrote. i have option of fdd-cdrom-lan-hdd. i put fdd at top, last 2 is different.
anyway anything else I can do. i really need this pc.
I googled allday to find an answer, no luck
need help I am desperate.
anyone

"fdd-cdrom-lan-hdd"
Did you remember to Save bios settings??
For most laptops, lan has to be after hdd, otherwise the hdd won't boot.
In older bioses, e.g., made before 2000 or so, you only have specific lists of choices to choose from.
In most more recent bioses, you can change the things listed in the bios's boot order to any order you want.I have no idea how old your laptop is.
Find the specific model "number" that's on a label on the outside of the case.
Tell us what it is.Were you trying to boot from a CD or DVD?
If you weren't, do you have a disk in a CD or DVD drive?
If you do, remove it!
