Reply: (edit)Ok, I was wrong, there is now a beep code. One beep replays until the system is shut down. I had to re-seat the processor and strip out everything except the floppy. Still no video or boot up.

Reply: (edit)What's your manufacturer of your bios. You should first find that out, then use your motherboards manuel to find out what the beep codes mean. Also you could go online and look for them.

Reply: (edit)The MOBO is a Chaintech 5HTM0.1 I have researched this far too long. The Bios is an AWARD bios. The manual does not state what the error code means. So I am at a loss for the moment. Even with no Ram in it, I stil get the same error beep system code.

Reply: (edit)If you get the same error code with no RAM, then your RAM is most likely bad, or incompatible. Try a different stick.

Reply: (edit)continuous beeps usually will be RAM os system board. Pull all cards and RAM. clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, replace vid card and RAM only. If still getting one continuous beep make sure the cpu fan is plugged into the header marked CPU Fan. If it is I would bet the motherboard has gone South on ya. Hope this helps

Reply: (edit)Also note, there is a fan header on th MB but no connection cable from the fan on the Processor directly to the MOBO. The fan instead plugs into a 5v Power supply directly off the PS of the new case. What now?

Reply: (edit)First, most, but not all, fans are 12V (yellow and black from PSU). Check the fan label to be sure. Second, many boards will not initialize without confirmation of CPU fan turning, so you may need to get the CPU fan connected to the proper terminal on the mobo. The fan should have 3 wires, red, black, and yellow, to properly work with the motherboard. The yellow is the fan speed sensor wire. If necessary, you should be able to replace the CPU fan with a 3-wire 12V cooling fan from Radio Shack or a local computer shop. Just be sure to get a fan with enough cfm to match or exceed existing. Let us know how it goes.
