I have recently replaced a faulty hard drive for one that was sent from Dell. I have got an error on the screen when the system boots up NO BOOT DEVICE FOUND. I need to get into DOS so that I can load on Windows XP. I have checked the boot sequence in the Bios setup screen and that seems as normal. Is there anything i am doing wrong?

How do you have the boot order setup? Watch the POST screens at the startup to see if the harddrive is shown there. Why do you need to get into DOS? Do you have a restore or full version CD for WinXP? if so all that is needed is to have the drive be recognised and have the boot order in the BIOS screens set to boot to CD before the harddrive. You want HDD0 or 1 is not 0 available in the BIOS.
