CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon 64 X2
Model/Manufacturer: GATEWAY GT5228

I have a gateway. I believe its the GT5228. It would not start the 1st time and then finally on the 4th time or more it would boot it this this intermitly (spelling). Now all that is on is the power and the light on the tower and the fan. Keyboard lights flash and then off. Mouse not working and the screen is in a standby mode..WHATS THE DEAL!

I would say if this is a new computer, it's still under Warranty, and you should definitely contact Gateway Support.

This computer is not under warranty its about 2 years old, I bought it from a place when I live in Alaska called Comp USA..soo yeh no warranty..

Sounds like it *might* be a bad power supply but I suggest you troubleshoot further rather than just arbitrarily replacing parts.
