I recently got a new video card nVidia GeForce 6600 and put it in my computer.
I uninstalled my old fx5200 card and put in the new card. I installed the video drivers and seemed to work fine. I then decided to find the newest drivers and install it. Again everything seemed fine.
Haven't had any problems until I tried to play videos. Most cause the screen to freeze and then the dreaded bsod.
It auto reboots and everything is fine till I try to play a video again.
I haven't tried a game yet.
I have a thermaltake 430W power supply and the molex connector is plugged into the card. It is a ASUS N6600 8x AGP
Everything worked fine before the upgrade and it still seems ok with exception of playing video files.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?
MSI K8N Neo
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.21ghz

WD 120gb SE
NEC ND-3500AG DVD R/RW

Sorry Correction It won't play some videos.
Most avi videos up to 700mb play fine but some videos like web content ones will freeze it up almost immediately.
Now I cannot see why changing video cards would only cause some videos not to play.

Ok guess i'll answer some of this myself as I started a new thread elsewhere.
I found it's not hardware related today though it seemed to be quite a coincidence.
I installed GTA SanAndres PC edition just to check since it played like crap on the old card.
I set everything to the highest resolutions the game would handle and it worked great.
So I did some more experimenting and installed winamp. Some of the nonplayable videos now play just start out bad.
So I assume it's windows media player related as it won't play internet videos either.
I tried uninstalling wmp but still locks up.
Sorry for wasting a post hopefully i'll get it figured out in the next one.
