New Video card PARTIALLY works?

Specs: Windows XP
So today I installed my new video card:

This is the computer I have: So I plugged the monitor via VGA cable into the video card and my monitor seems to display up to the point where you see the xp loading screen. But once the sign-in music plays, I never see my desktop or even my mouse cursor, so I am wondering how I can fix this?

I followed all the instructions from the video card's box and some of it required tweaking around with a "BIOS" menu, so maybe this is related to that?

Try booting up in safe mode. If that works, try lowering the resolution and possibly the refresh rate.

Not a very good card...better than the onboard, but not good for gaming.

You have to disable the onboard in the BIOS, set the shared memory to "none" & set the "Initial Display Fisrt" to PCI.

Okay thank you all I changed the BIOS settings and that worked, but I also had to choose the monitor's default to the video card in Control Panel > Display.

Problem solved. Thank you for responding. :)
