Ive bought 2 new Azen ram chips to bring my system to 512 ram. My system is great now exept that directX 9's Direct3D doesnt work. Any game that uses direct3d wont load or does errors. DxDiag gives me this error after doing test for direct3d...test failed at step 8 (creating 3d device): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure) what can i do, reformat? ive resintalled directx9 and a few games to no avail

If any old RAM is still installed, remove it and I bet the problem goes away.

Some machines(and some RAM) will simply not play well with others.
