It might be hard to find a good quality 700 watt PSU for that price.

I got a 600 watt Ultra from Fry's for $40 after rebate in Jan and I bought a 500 watt Antec from them for $50 after rebate.

Check Pricewatch.

A decent name brand 700W PSU will cost over $125. If you spend less, you'll be wasting your money (unless it's on sale or a rebate's involved). You are NOT gonna find an Antec or PC Power & Cooling 700W PSU for anything remotely close to $55...lol!

You really don't have that great of a system. There's absolutely no need for a 700W PSU. A 500W unit will be more than enough.

If you aren't in a big hurry, shop around and wait. Higher power PSUs will most likely come down in price. Frys usually has a special on a PSU every week.

Then you should take that $55, add the $50 you're planning on spending for 5.1 speakers, save up another $50 & buy a good brand name 700W PSU.

I still say it's a waste of money, not to mention overkill. There's nothing special about your system as it sits & to make it into something that would actually require a 700W PSU, you'd need a complete rebuild....new board, CPU, RAM, two PCI-E cards to run SLi, several HDDs, etc. If you can't even scrape up enough money for a decent 700W PSU, how are you gonna come up with $1000+ to build a system that would actually NEED one?
