Comment: I am looking to buy a new printer since mine is very old and has terrible quality. I just recently purchased a DVD burner and I was planning on making my own cases for some wedding homevideos for the family. I want it to look good though, like a real DVD, on glossy paper and such. My question is, whats the best printer to go with for doing this? I want it to look like a regular DVD quality, but not overly expensive. Another question. Is there any type of printer that would be better to use as far as ink goes? I don't want to print out 4 cases and then be out of ink. Thank you.

Reply: (edit)You have to be careful with DVDs - putting sticky labels on them can cause playing problems - something to do with the fine balancing within the drive - they're much more temperamental than CDs. So you need a printer which can print direct to the CD/DVD & I don't think there are many of these around now. As far as ink is concerned, make sure you choose one with separate ink tanks - Canon are favourites for this. "I know that I'm mad - I've always been mad..."

Reply: (edit)I think Canon, Epson are good. HP is more rugged but often twice the price. Keep in mind that paper and ink will be a major expense. Choose a printer that has individual, refillable colors and for which you can readily buy a refill kit. HTH M2

Reply: (edit)If I were you I would get a multifunction printer with scanner. You can get high qualitiy ones for very good prices. I would also go with a Cannon, Epson or HP. I know that HP and Cannon make multifunctin printers but I am not sure about Epson... actually I havent seen a new Epson for ages. Oh well.
