Just purchased a new Antec 300W power supply, for replacement. When I flic the switch it turns on for about a second and shuts off right away. I tried using an other power supply, 250W from another PC, and it works fine. What can cause the power supply to not stay on?

check to see if the switch on the back is set for 110 (us) or 220 (europe). also, make sure your motherboard can handle the power being supplied to it. else you could've just received a faulty power supply.

Returned the power supply last night and got another one. Everything works fine now. The original power supply was bag out of the box. You would think that comming from Antec, quality control would be better than that.

do you live next to an antec store?... because bag out of the box... I would asume you bought from a retail store like circuit city or compusa. it's their fault not antecs.

Sorry, it was a typo. It should have read "bad of the box". Brand new shrinkwarp box.
