Well my backup comp pcu/mb crapped out. So iam putting the current MB/CPU in it, so I will need a new cpu/mb.
Iam deciding on which to get, i dont want to spend alot and i think iam gonna get a P4 or a PD.
PD options:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819116253
or P4:

and motherboard:

I use my comp for everyday stuff, and games like CS, CoH, WoW, Wc3. Those types of games, nothing like oblivion or anything.

So idk what I should buy, if anyone else has some good, yet cheap ideas as well besides the one iam getting please feel free to voice your opinion.
Thx.

Well if you are using your pc for games unless you are going to get a high end dual core processor then you aren't doing yourself a favor when choosing a low end dual core processor such like the Pentium D 830/930 or lower series.

Now if you are running DDR ram you will not be able to use it on that DDR2 945G motherboard.

What I would suggest is you getting an AMD Athlon 64 Socket 3700+ for 105. That processor out benchmarks the 2 processors you just listed and in some cases out benchmarks both of those processors by a lot.

If you are going to keep your ram i'd suggest adding another 512 DDR 400 ram to it.

Get a Asus Nvidia nforce 4 ultra socket 939 motherboard for 85 bucks.

Depending up what grpahics card you have in there now if you don't have a very good one go with a Nvidia 7300GT pci-e for around 100 bucks, although they aren't the best gpu's they will do a pretty good job for the games you are playing.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ OC 2.7ghz
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7900GT
SATA II 2x 200gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI

Is that a better cpu then any of the listed ones?
Once again this will be my everday computer with the casual games like CS, and CoH.

Oh and you said its bad to get a low end dual processor correct?
Well instead of the 3800 up there.
What about the AMD Anthlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual processor and a Asus M2V-TVM mb? The MB seems like a cheap effective one.

Right now, AM2 has no real performance advantage over S939. And why are you limiting yourself to a crappy mATX motherboard? The best bang for your buck in AMD S939 CPUs is the single core 3700+...it was selling for $99 last time I looked. The best board would be one based on the nForce4 Ultra chipset, 2 x 512MB PC3200, a PCI-E video card, & a decent power supply to run it all.
