Comment:

My pc died this weekend so I have decided to purchase the following

Acer Aspire M1640 Intel Celeron C440 2GHz 512MB 160GB DVD±RW (+R double layer) GF 7050 Vista Home Basic.

I'm only going with this as I want to add my odd sata hdd as a slave drive, my question is does the above come with a spare sata connector and slot.

Thanks

Below is the product spec page for that desktop. It appears it has only one SATA controller which would support TWO drives. There is already a hard drive and an optical drive included so it doesn't appear to have any more SATA ports.

If you want to buy this computer anyway you can buy an add in SATA controller card that fits into a PCI slot on the motherboard. This motherboard does have a PCI slot available and the case does have a 3.5" drive bay available.

So for about $20 you could get a card to support your old SATA hard drive. Below the Acer link is a link for a compatible SATA controller card.
